Do You Think Reality Shows Are Real?
With so many reality shows on TV these days, do you think all of them are real or do you think it's all a set-up?

-- Posted By Pacific-Writer on September 18, 2007a lot editing. I would think that the producers of the shows would want to keep it somewhat real but life is very unpredictable and at times boring. At times like these, . these shows would need a little boost to make it more lively. It's kind of like the movie "The Truman Show" . In that movie they followed the life of Truman and even though most of it was "real" there was a lot that was not. .
No, It's all prescribed !
You put real people in un-real situations, it's not reality. Add in the manipulation and "stirring of the pot", by the producers, and you get sensationalized quasi-reality.
Sine about three-quarters of what is filmed ends up on the editing room floor, even with alleged "LIVE" shows, there is more editing to these than most sit-coms or dramas combined.
In addition, there are many instances in which what is shown as occurring between contestants can be taken out of context or out of sequence in order to influence or like or dislike of certain individuals. This is done both to make it interesting as well as to make it seem more exciting or dramatic than it actually is...
The current season of Big Brother has had a few sequences of people discussing/arguing/debating things and these sequences include clips of people reacting or responding that occurred days or hours before or after the incident.
