Rap music is degrading to women

rap music is degrading to women in the way the lyrics talk about them. Rappers treat women as property and call them filthy names.

Rap music is degrading to women because it treats them disrespectfully in their songs.

Flip on the radio and listen. Its either about having sex, getting sex, or some form of sexuality.

I agree, a strong majority of rap music focuses on unrealistic sexuality, degrading women often.

I'd say that 90% of rap music that you hear on the radio is sex driven and usually in a perverse aspect towards women. Its sleazy and generally stupid music. Its pointless and barbaric, if ever there was a waste of sound in the air its rap.

I feel that rap music is degrading to women. The rap music I have listened to, all define women as Sleezy, Wh0res, B!tches, etc.

Women have also written songs about men, but I think the big difference is that women respond more to how they are treated, and men respond more to what they see, hear or think they know.

Don't know FOR sure, but this is my opinion.

Rap music is a cultural extension of a certain segment of society. Not all rules apply to everyone.

This kinda rap is acceptable when done appropriately, nothing is wrong with sex or love.

theirs an entire genre of rap based on love poems its called rnb, where many women themselves also talk about love. i dont know why their are so many wierd puritanical hang ons about sex in this world. its a beautiful thing when spoken about in the right way. i agree that callin girls bitches is not good. but then again girls call each other bitches ALL the time, probably more so than rappers. and i do hate to say this but ive even met girls that ive had the urge to call them a bitch... cuz they were. all women in this world arent exactly innocent you know. not to mention people are going at the problem in the wrong way we keep showing videos and talking about all the bad rap this and bad rap that. you know what the philosophy in the media was during the vietnam war. they would continually show outrageous bad things to show the people how terrible it was. which was a good thing. but since then people have seen the media was a good way to manipulate peoples mind. so WHY are you showing so much bad rap and improvising on it more and more your just leading more people to look at that stuff so basically the only thing your doing is adding "gasoline to the fire" your not helping in any way. maybe if the media were to show better rap music, about unity, havin fun, and other stuff such as that, people would be FOCUSING on that stuff more and bad music such as the one your talking about would greatly dwindle. btw i dont listen to songs that degrade women, but ive probably listened to about 5000 rap songs in my life, that says something in itself.
