Should TV stations edit their live content?
Lately, several celebrities have used profanity or made political statements on live television, which has then been quickly editted or bleeped out. Should this occur?

Yes, to keep the program decent for their viewers, stations should edit content
If you want uncensored TV get cable. I think that all public TV should be monitored. Young children
-- Posted By Rocky-Mt-High on September 19, 2007don't need to see half naked people or someone cussing. .
Many television stations already implement a 'delay' into their broadcasting to catch 'bloopers'.
-- Posted By Perdie on September 18, 2007Television stations should have absolute control over what is ultimately broadcast. Stations should (and some do) have an official statement of acceptable conduct and enforce it.
It's one thing if you choose to watch a show you know if vulgar, and another if you don't
-- Posted By flippinsweet on September 18, 2007But then some mighty celebrity can't think of anything intelligent to say, so she says something crude and it's just offensive, unnecessary, and vulgar. If I sit down knowing I'm watching a show with profanity, . then I have nothing to complain about. But, if I sit down thinking I'm going to watch some pleasant, entertaining show, and then somebody's nasty, it's shocking. (I guess that's why they do it). I'm glad the television stations are at least trying to. adhere to some sort of morality!

We were fighting for it for centuries.
Kids access to it is a different story though...
Grown ups should be able to "vote with their remotes" by changing the channel if they don't like it
-- Posted By mama_k on September 18, 2007Children shouldn't be watching most of these programs in question, anyway, so really, it should be adults watching and they should turn it off if they're offended.
