Babies and children belong in their own beds!

The deciding factor is individual taste. Do you want to later deal with your child throwing a fit every night because they want to sleep with you for years? I personally wouldn't want that. It's hard enough to get a toddler to sleep without having to re-train them to sleep alone when they get older.

Most cultures co-sleep, recognizing the need for nighttime closeness.

The question shouldn't be "is it safe to sleep with my baby," but "how can I sleep safely with her?"

Many cultures sleep with their infants and small children and do it safely. Sure, there are ways and times it's not safe, but it can be made into a safe, pleasant, sleep-saving experience!

I think that the night time comfort of your guardian is very important. I think that the security it hold in their minds is irreplaceable.

As long as the kid stops sleeping in the same bed with you at a certain age. Like 10 or so.
