continue living if they are to ill to do so.Why should anyone suffer if a terminal illness?. If we as people have freedom then that includeds freedom to do as we wish to our bodies. If we can be hooked up to machines or be on medicine by choice, shouldn't we be allowed to die?

Another thing to think about is that we as a country give the right to pet owners to eat an animals

life. If a creature is to injured or sick to life a healthy life, we feel they should be put to sleep and those critters have no choice in the matter but we humans, if we are so sick that we can no longer lead a healthy life, tough. .

We have to live anyway. In some cases, a person is even made to be on machine or other devices to make them live. If that fair?

Regardless of what the laws say, in the end it is your life and yours alone. What you choose to do with it is completely up to you. No law can effectively supercede a person's right to die in a manner they deem fitting.

There are many ways to kill yourself; why should a physician be involved? There are many decisions you can make to speed the end of life; refusing treatment, etc. It's not fair to docs to make them party to your death.

I don't think there is anything in Oregon's state law that requires a doctor to assist with suicide; it's voluntary. If a doctor has moral or ethical reservations about assisting someone in ending their life, there is no penalty for refusal on the doctors part.
