Do teachers REALLY deserve a pay raise?

Teachers work eight hours a day, five days a week, for only two-thirds of the year. They get at least two hours during the school day dedicated to lesson prep and lunch, and their education requirements are minimal. Do teachers honestly deserve a pay

No, teaching isn't a difficult job and teachers are compensated fairly.

The people who teach our children all day in school deserve to make as much money as the celebrities

Anyone who believes that teachers have an easy life has never known one. The amount of preparation that goes into creating interesting informative lessons in immense. Good teachers do not have a lot of spare time. Many Teachers also take part in a lot of extra curricular activities.

If the pay rates are very low you cannot attract high calibre people. Teachers are worth every bit as much as GPs or Lawyers, and should be payed as much as them.
