Do you believe you can be addicted to video games and if so should there be clinics for it?

Not only have I been crazy addicted to video games myself. I know several people who have all but ruined their lives because of it.

It's just as real of an addiction as anything imho.

Many years ago in college (1997) I played Starcraft all the time online. I would wake up and think strategy, goto classes and plan strategy, come back and play - for hours.

oh yes, computer addiction is real and it can be a problem...but it can also be fun! Just don't let it get you fired or pulled out of school!

Diablo 2

I remember being so addicted to Diablo II that I would sit down at 9am and start playing, then after an intense session look up and the sun was setting the next day...

That went on for a while.

Now I am addicted to GemCraft, which is a TOWER DEFENSE game online...

Addiction?

It's not an addiction, it is a replacement of social life for lazy people, who are too immature and indifferent to fix their lives. As it was proven, there was no psychological addiction symptoms among "addicted" to video games.
