I think Condoleezza Rice would be perfect for the position.

She's incredibly smart, on top of the issues, and very well-spoken.

It's a terrible idea.

Since when is failure a good argument for being VP? Condi is a nice person on TV, but she failed in letting 911 happen then she helped lead us into the Iraq quagmire. These actions don't qualify her to be a good VP choice.

DUDE!!! Condi's role in BOTH of these was non-existent. Get real. She didn't become Secretary of State until January of 2005!!!! Her previous role as National Security Advisor was not significant in those events, in that the NSA is not directly connected to either the Department of Defence or the Department of State. 911 happened a mere 8 months after the Bush Administration took office. It was already planned and the wheels in motion for YEARS under the Clinton administration without detection. Regarding the invasion of Iraq (which I'm not terribly happy with either), that was a Defense Department deal. You can't pin either of those events on Condi. Remember how she stood up to those obnoxious senators during her confirmation hearing for her current position. No man has ever had that kind of courage and stature. She would serve us well.
