That is not to say that many of these things are being done with or without modern technology. Its just starting to seem like youtube, tv and guitar hero are sucking the brains out of this generation. Things we view as culture (and high culture) today were not viewed as such at the time. Shakespeare was viewed as a hack writer. Not to mention all the practical things that are advancing. There will always be that portion of society that sits in front of the tv all day. Maybe that portion is growing but what can be done about it anyway?
