The Hand that Rocks the Cradle Rules the World
It is true that mothers affect the world greatly. How today’s mothers raise their children is how tomorrow’s world will be. So, shouldn’t we be concerned at deviant forms of family? Today the family is thoroughly changed and attacked. If yo

I think that mothers should be very involved with their children.
-- Posted By Sundrop on October 26, 2007You should take responsibility for those who you bring into the world. A mother should act the part and not just let things happen. A child should have a good mother figure and father figure. A lack in any of this could lead to problems later.
I have grown up in a world where both father and mother spend their days slaving from paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet. My mom was lucky enough to get us on Public Aid when we were young so she could take a few minutes each week to teach my siblings and I the way of the world and to try to keep us on the straight and narrow path to success.
I have worked retail for over 15 years and have seen countless - COUNTLESS - kids running amok with their parents continually either ignoring them or screaming at them.
There are so many children out there now from parents who had unwanted kids and were never taught by their own parents how to be a responsible adult. So how are they supposed to know how to keep their own kids under control?
It's a downward spiral and it's only going to get worse.
Where's all the anger towards FATHERS not doing their part???
-- Posted By kmodek on August 18, 2008I'm so sick of everything being put on the shoulders of women and mothers. Try asking where the fathers are and why they aren't doing anything to help raise the kids.
There is also the issue of 'Passive Parenting', which is rampant now. Parents let kids do obnoxious things and there is no discipline. If you don't teach them that they can't run around being loud and rude and disrespecting everyone and everything, they'll grow up not having this basic rule. This is why so many kids are such brats and no one can stand to be around them. Parents need to get over the 'oh, I don't want to hurt them' crap and BE THE PARENT. Kids have to know who's boss, otherwise they have no respect for anyone and will grow up expecting to have everything handed to them even though they do nothing to deserve it. Parents overbuy toys and other junk for kids as a way to 'love' their kids, to the point that kids don't appreciate anything.
Everything is fine and recent developments on the views of the family are improvements not problems.
The family is still intact. It's the definitions of "family" that have changed.
