Pulling the Plug?

It is a really hard decision to make, weather or not to pull the plug on a loved one. It’s hard especially when there are several documented cases on people recovering from comas at a much later time. When is it a good decision to pull the plug?

That way such a decision isn't so pushed.

But we can't always be sure that they WON'T come back. There are many incidences where individuals have come back from a prolonged coma. When was it ok to play God? When we can't afford it (financially AND emotionally)? Hard choice it is to quite.

Pulling the plug is a kindness, who wants the wake up 50 years later anyways?

If there is even the tiniest hope of recovery then i think the decent thing to do is to allow things to play out. you never know what can happen. but there are times when there is no possible chance of recovery. i also had a relative who's brain stem was basically severed and he was in a coma. in a situation like that he would never be able to recover. technology can sustain life at that point so its not playing god. the person was already dead.

I have had a loved one in that situation. After a certain time the doctors are positive that a recovery isn't going to happen. Also, with the pain associated on both sides, its the more decent thing to do. .
