Is the Death Penalty a Good Idea?

Some would argue the purpose for the death penalty. Is it our right to decide who lives and who dies? What if there was an error in judgment? What if the person is innocent? Are we trying to help people become better? If so, how are we doing tha

the death penalty are this: 1, it doesn't deter crime. 2, how many innocent people have been executed?

I know it is quite evil to think that but... I'd rather know that the murderer is suffering and really paying for what he did than dead. And yes, there are innocent people dying.

Conceited

Thinking that you have the power to choose whether someone lives or dies is just plain conceited and arrogant. I don't anyone should be put to death no matter what their crime.

Besides, sometimes people do things that are just plain atrocious and I feel that instead of a quick death, they should pay the full price. It's the least they could do for causing suffering.
