Are Diamonds worth lives?

Many people in Africa suffer horrifying conditions just because the wealthy in this world want shiny things. They are greedy and their greed is costing lives.

Diamonds should not come at the cost of human lives.

I think diamonds are not more important than family.

Family is more important than a little object so why are people addicted to them?!

DeBeers - a monopoly and manipulator...

Diamonds are as abundant as pennies.

There are literally BILLIONS of diamonds holed up in the DeBeers vaults in South Africa and South America. DeBeers has inflated the cost of the diamond and created a mind-altered society that believes these compressed coal chunks are rare and extremely valuable.

If DeBeers were to open their vaults, you could buy Diamonds for a dime a pound at your local dollar store.

I work with people who deal with DeBeers and have visited the vaults.

The whole "woman's best friend" and "forever" campaigns are BS to get you to pay thousands of dollars for a chunk of coal.

nothing should come at the cost of a human life. life is a priceless thing and no one should die over any MATERIAL object.

Without even knowing it many of us still support slavery. Human beings are being used in a humiliating way to procure our diamonds. Should this be allowed to continue? Would YOU buy a diamond that was acquired by the blood of the innocent? .

Supporting Slavery, eh?

Have you bought any clothing at Wal-Mart lately?

Slaves made them.

This really shouldn't be a problem. There are ways of getting diamonds in a clean way. DON'T deal in SHADY markets. Buy from a reliable source. .

Diamonds are meant to be bought; the buyer shouldn't feel guilty for the methods used to acquire the

You can't shut down that market just because of such atrocities. There should simply be a more through investigation on the matter.
