Socio-economics vs Affirmative Action: Which Should Count More?

Affirmative Action still exists, but is it effective legislation when a rich minority has more opportunities than a disadvantaged person of a 'privileged' class?

If Oprah had kids, are you trying to tell me that this kid wouldn't be afforded every privilege in the world? Yeah, it could be half black, half Mexican, female, and Jewish all in one, that kid is going to get whatever she wants. The poor kid from the trailer park that had to fight his way through school to only get into a subpar school because he didn't have money and didn't have connections is always going to come second to Oprah's kid. Because race, gender, religion doesn't matter as much now...who you know and how they can help you does. If you don't have the money and run in the right circles, you probably are going to lose out 9 times out of 10. And it won't matter one scrap if you are part of the 'privileged class.'.

Affirmative Action has yet to put the minority groups as equals

The priveledged class exists most often because they were put there by their family. There are some self-made, but this is actually rare. There are not enough jobs in this country for everyone to have a job, and if there were, capitalists (biz owners) would still need leverage or they'd have to hire whoever applied. And they obviously don't. Capitalism requires that there be a base of unemployed and potential workers. If there is not a base of potential workers, the business owners are not able to secure labor cheaply to make enough profit to line their greedy pockets.
