Tattoos, are they a fashion statement, or a fashion mistake?
Tattoos are not a new concept. In the last few years they have even become a bid media event, but are they a safe expression on one's self? Or a reckless decision to be regretted later?

Tattoo art is an expression. It shouldn't be thought of otherwise.

Hey, if you need to decorate your skin and adorn your body, more power to you, just don't try to preach it to me like you denigrate the religious people
I have tons of tattoos, if you have a problem with tattoos, Don't look at them. We aren't forcing them on YOUR body!
Some people have really bad, meaningless tattoos but that doesn't mean that they are all ex girlfriends and band logos. Tattoos should be a representation of something internal that will either never change or should never be forgotten. .
For some having a tattoo is a spiritual reminder and/or a bit more personal than a pretty purse.
-- Posted By JenTheObscure on September 26, 2007I have a close friend who's mom died last year who now has a beautiful "MOM" tattoo on his upper arm. Is that fashion? Do you think that would ever go out of style for him?

-- Posted By DiamondLips on September 21, 2007Tattoos are a permanent way to tell the world what you think and what your views are. Its a way to appreciate what is near and precious to you. If done right it can be a mark of beauty that more clearly brings out your personality. .
Tattoos are a mistake. They are like a fashion statement that can't go away.
Tattoos are a fashion statement, but the problem is that you cant take it off.
-- Posted By eastwind on September 22, 2007The problem with tattoos is that they are a statement that you are making NOW. What about later when your views are different? Or when your not dating the name on your butt anymore? Its easier to put one on than to take one off. .
Think about it, how you feel now will change later. People change a LOT and sometimes very drastically. The chances of you regretting your tattoo are very high, especially when they start getting old later. "Susy" might not BE your other half then. Yes, you may not be with "Suzy" anymore, but it is a rare minority that actually has the name of a non-relative (ie: someone other than say a child or close family member) tattooed on themselves. More often I see tattoos that represent something.. important to the person, even if it's a butterfly or a character. More likely than not, the person isn't going to have a drastic change of heart about these objects.
