How old is old enough to "hang out" in public places with friends, unsupervised?
I keep seeing younger and younger groups of three or more kids at the mall, at the fair, etc., w/o any parents. How old is "old enough?"

It depends on the kids, but I think a group of kids in upper elementary school would be fine.
High school, at least, if at all!
Kids have to be aware of so many situations and people; I say high school age, at least!
-- Posted By flippinsweet on September 19, 2007I may trust my 10 year old and her friends, but I don't trust that she would know what to do if she got separated from her friends, or if some guy was following them, etc. Plus, I just don't think it's necessary! I grew up in a small town w/o a mall, so maybe I'm just unrealistic?
