Rugby or Soccer
Which is truly the man's sport? Is it rugby or soccer that makes the man?

Rugby takes a level of endurance that soccer does not.

Rugby is rough, tough, and takes both skill and brute strength.

It takes a real man to take the brutality of the sport and want to come back for another game.
Theres a quote I barely remember that says soccer is a sport played by gentlemen and watched by ruffians while rugby is a sport played by ruffians and watched by gentlemen. Rugby isnt polite. Its a sport that takes on the toughest men and humbles the rest
Rugby is a sport for ruffians PLAYED by Gentlemen.
Soccer is a game for gentlemen played by ruffians.
Prior to professionalism most rugger players were lawyers, accountants etc not working class people.
Rugby players have to dig deeper, on a regular basis, in order to contine to face their opponents.
In rugby, everyone knows they are going onto the field with the same mindset as the opposing team: to completely dominate each player they face. Truly, in rugby, it is man against man: no pads, no protection, and no way to go but through your opponent. .
Rugby is rough, tough, and takes both skill and brute strength.

These guys playing are ridiculously bright and athletic. It takes the toughest elements of many other sports (soccer and football), removes the protective gear, and sends them on their way. It is full contact, less restraint, graceful, brutal, and captivating all at once.
Rugby is more than getting the ball, running & getting tackled. It's all about planning, drawing the opposition in, off loading, skillful passing/kicking. And who knew that tackling could be a skill as well?
. Football (soccer) is about running around after the ball. Rugby is running, going to the ground, tackling, being tackled while getting a shorter halftime. So, who cares that 3 million people in the world play rugby while the other guys have 30 million? Rugby players are better athletes with better fans, hands down!
but only because rugby guys are hot!!!
Rugby is the best. i have played both rugby and football im only young but rugby i chose is the best sport its more thn just running round wiv a ball its about making everything goes right. plus i was watching millions of vids of footballers pretending to be hurt well if they were in a game of rugby they would go off the pitch winging like a baby. its so annoying so RUGBY RULES!
Soccer isn't as violent as rugby, but violence doesn't make it a man's sport.
Soccer is much better. I can play with my designer hairstyle without it getting ruffled!
-- Posted By visionary1 on September 10, 2007Seriously soccer is all about having style and being able to show it off. I mean if I played rugby I'd get sent off for swearing at the ref!
Soccer is about entertainment not sport. That's why players get paid so much.
Good sport isn't determined by injury and bloodshed but by the physical skill and mental strategy.
-- Posted By Perdie on September 20, 2007Soccer is a good sport in that it relies on these and is something both sexes and all ages can play. It's a better all-round sport.
Rugby players are much more polite to the fans. If you see any league match in a rugby league the fans can go onto the pitch and the players will sign autographs and pose for pictures despite the fatigue of playing a full match. in soccer only a handfull of plyers trully appreciate the fans that pay their £100,000 wage bill.
Rugby is not as overrated as soccer. managers in soccer will pay 50 million for a single player but if a manager spends 5 million in 2 years that is classified as a LOT.
In soccer diving is now widespread but you wouldnt even think of it because you would look like a eejit.
in rugby he fans wont abuse the players. In soccer if a player has a shocker in a match the player will be booed every time he gets the ball.
